👋 About us
Local news, by locals. And it's not social media.
Hello Five Dock is a free newsletter and website for Five Dock and the suburbs around it. It's built from what locals, shops and community groups send in, not what an algorithm reckons you'll click.
What we do
📬 The newsletter
Tuesday and Friday at 7am. Five minutes to read, with what's on, what's changing and what neighbours are giving away.
📰 News and events
Local news, events, community notices, lost and found, and free stuff, posted by people who live here.
🏪 The directory
Local shops, services, clubs and groups. Owners can claim their listing to keep it up to date and share offers.
🗳️ Have your say
Local surveys on the things people talk about, with the results published for everyone. Plus photos of the neighbourhood, by neighbours.
How it works
- 1.Locals send things in. News, events, notices and photos come from people who live, work and run groups around here.
- 2.An editor checks everything. Nothing goes in the newsletter until a person has read it. When news comes from somewhere else, like Council or Transport for NSW, we say so.
- 3.We credit the people who share. Contributors are thanked by first name and suburb, never more unless they want it.
- 4.We fix mistakes. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll correct it.
We collect as little about you as we can, and we don't sell it. The privacy policy has the details.
Who's behind it

Get involved
The more neighbours who share, the better it gets.
