Learn backyard growing and bee tips in Concord on Sunday 18 October

Concord Community Garden opens its gates this Sunday 18 October from 10am to 2pm behind the Concord Community Centre on Gipps Street. Drop in to check out the plots and chat with the local volunteers. The Inner West Beekeepers will be there sharing tips on keeping bees in the city. Urban Grow is running a hands-on workshop covering backyard, balcony and pot growing, including soil choice, water-wise gardening and attracting local birds, bees and lizards. You need to book the workshop through the City of Canada Bay website, but entry to the rest of the open day is free with no booking required. The garden first opened in 2013 as the council area's very first community garden. Source: City of Canada Bay
