Last checked 16 October 2026
The short answer
Abbotsford wharf is closed from Thursday 22 October to Friday 18 December 2026 for upgrades. Transport for NSW suggests catching a bus along Great North Road instead, or you can catch the F3 ferry from Chiswick wharf, about 2.4 km away.
Abbotsford wharf is closed for upgrades from Thursday 22 October to Friday 18 December 2026, so F3 Parramatta River ferries won't stop there. Here are the other ways to get to the city, from Transport for NSW.
Catch a bus on Great North Road
Transport for NSW says the bus along Great North Road is the easiest alternative. The 438X runs to Martin Place, and the 438N runs late at night. Check the Transport for NSW Trip Planner for times from your stop.
Catch the ferry from Chiswick
Chiswick wharf, on the F3, is about 2.4 km from Abbotsford wharf, around a 31-minute walk. It's the nearest wharf that stays open.
When it reopens
The wharf is due to reopen after Friday 18 December 2026. We'll update this page if the date changes.
